Booking an early dental check-up for your baby is important for the future of their infant and adult teeth - as well as their general well-being.

We're here to ensure your children have health, strong teeth and for this to happen we need to see them regularly - ideally from six months old or as soon as their very first tooth comes through.

As a parent I know what it's like to have young children and time can run away before you know it. The important thing is to come - as soon as you can. This also helps your child to become accustomed to visiting the dentist from an early age.

We offer dental hygiene and care advice to parents with young babies. We also show toddlers and children how to brush their teeth correctly and explain the importance of looking after to make sure they are as clean as possible.

We discuss important dietary advice and information with parents - as well as providing a chart and lovely stickers for the children.

In some cases, where appropriate, we provide Fluoride Varnish Application and Fissure Sealants which reduces the incidence of tooth decay in children.

Keep your teeth super-clean and healthy by booking a regular scale and polish appointment with our dental hygienists at our Northenden Dental Practice. Many of our patients book a visit to the hygienist every 6 months, but there are some factors which might mean more frequent visits are advisable such as your general health, diet and also a genetic predisposition to gum disease. The aim is to prevent tooth decay and gum disease.

During treatment the plaque that has formed on your teeth will be carefully removed and your gums will be thoroughly checked for any sign of disease.

After the treatment our hygienist will remind you how to clean your teeth effectively between appointments and can answer any questions you have about your oral hygiene.

Tooth fractures, tooth loss, and injuries to the lips, cheeks, and tongue can result from facial blows during contact sports, potentially causing lasting damage to your teeth and surrounding tissues. Additionally, impacts to an unprotected jaw can lead to concussions or traumatic brain injuries.

Dental-related sporting injuries can be prevented with a custom-fit mouth guard. This means that the mouth-guards we provide will be personalised to fit your teeth and gums. Custom mouth-guards offers superior comfort and protection, significantly reducing the risk of injury.

At Morris Dental Care in Northenden we provide triple-layered custom mouth-guards for enhanced protection and comfort. We don't recommend ' boil-and-bite' mouth-guards which are made at home.
